Description
You will not believe the weight saving possible by changing your stock eBike wheels to a set of our BF/eBs. This weight saving increases acceleration and battery life and when combined with the extra stiffness of our rims gives incredible handling advantages, boosting the agility of your bike. Choose from 30mm or 35mm internal width rims.
For comparrison, the standard 27.5 wheelset on one of our customers £5100 Whyte E-160 S weighed his wheels at 3100g, compared to the same width and stiffer 27.5 BF/eB 36/30s he replaced them with at 1850g. 1.25KG of rotating mass saved!
Our carbon rims have many years of being tried and tested on eBikes and they are plenty strong enough for the job so we don’t feel the need to use heavier rims than our standard enduro construction.
Choice from our BF36/30 or BF42/35 rims with eBike specific Hope Pro 5 hubs and upgraded spokes on the rear wheel.
Rear wheels are built with Sapim Strong spokes. Front wheels are built with Sapim Race spokes with the same circular profile as the Sapim Strong to keep the wheelsets as light as possible.
Please refer to our BF36/30 (30mm internal width) and BF42/35 (35mm internal width) product pages for further information about these wheelsets.

Mark owen –
eBike customer
As a returning customer I had high expectation. I purchased a Spesh Turbo Levo but found the wheels so heavy to get around tight berms and alternate left – rights felt like riding an oil tanker
The wheels I’d bought previous had been the best wheels I’d had in twenty five years and at a twenty stone rider they’ve seen some abuse
Especially on the welsh black runs! So it was going to be no surprise that the wheels were going to live up to the abuse
But not only just weight saving and handling
Along with better braking these wheels have given an increase in power saving to the battery.
I must get at least five miles extra for the same speeds and effort (15% gain)
Nine months and 2000 miles wheels still run true although the extra torque have broken some spokes at the J bend cassette side (mine have standard CX Ray spokes and were built before these eBike specific wheels with the stronger spokes were available, plus as I said before, I’m a twenty stone plus rider) quick and easy to fix with a spare spoke or two and haven’t even needed truing up.
That’s the only improvement I’d make it I had a new set – stronger spokes on the rear wheel to handle the 250watt 90nm motor plus what I can put through the back wheel!
Great wheels thanks
Look the dogs too

Well had the Levo stollen what a bummer
Tried the normal bike again but it’s hard to go back so purchased another ebike
First thing I upgraded was wheels with another pair of blue flows finest
This time with the heavier duty spokes on the rear wheel and the DX driver to stop the cassette eating the cassette body.
Wow what a difference again
This time three pounds of rotational mass saved (2.35kg)
It’s now faster, sharper turning – switchbacks and left right berm combos are like a normal bike
I’m getting air – on an ebike
It stops quicker, and I’ve reduced damping on the suspension – so much more traction from the unstrung weight
You can think with an ebike that it doesn’t matter as the power of the motor will compensate for wheel weight – think again it’s transformed a great bike into an amazing bike
The best upgrade you will ever make
For those who watch “fast and loud” this won’t be lost
“Get you some of that”
Thanks again Stu for another great pair of wheels -indestructible performance at the price of one enve rim
And I’d challenge anyone to prove there’s a difference in quality
( bike is whyte e160s )
